Programs and published requirements

Compare the specific program and legal funding entity on your offer. Advertised limits and minimums do not guarantee eligibility or your price.

Carrier factoring

Options
Both recourse and nonrecourse programs are advertised. Nonrecourse marketing addresses customer credit or funding failures; disputes and other seller obligations must be checked in the signed terms.
Published features
Nonrecourse page lists no reserve, volume requirement or sign-up fee. Recourse pricing varies with volume and debtor quality. No universal numeric factoring rate is stated.
Process
Customer credit is preapproved before accepting the load; completed paperwork is submitted for verification and processing. Fuel advances are a separate option.

Freight-broker factoring

Broker services
Advertises nonrecourse credit protection, customer selection, carrier payments and no setup, monthly or invoicing fee, monthly minimum or reserve.
Transaction charges
Broker page separately lists $5 COMDATA/EFS transfers and $12 wires. Confirm current charges; its worked 5% factoring example is not a universal quote.
Fuel advance
Page describes advancing 40% or 50% of the load directly to carriers against required pickup documentation.

Published agreement provisions

Price and recourse
Signed Discount Schedule sets pricing and whether accounts are purchased with or without recourse.
Exit notice
Published terms require written termination notice acknowledged by TBS 30 to 90 days before expiry.
Early exit
The published clause specifies an early termination charge of 5% of the maximum available credit line, plus possible UCC-release costs. Obtain confirmation of terms and any written waiver for your offer.
Exclusivity
Published terms restrict financing receivables elsewhere during the agreement. Purchased-invoice payments must be remitted to TBS.

When it may fit

Our assessment of the published programs

  • Carriers comparing credit-risk options and fuel advances.
  • Freight brokers seeking carrier-payment support.

What to weigh carefully

  • No-long-term-commitment marketing should not be read as permission to exit without contractual notice or cost.
  • No monthly fee does not mean no transfer, termination or other contract charges.

Questions before you accept an offer

  1. Which discount schedule and term apply to our program?
  2. Will you confirm every termination charge and notice deadline in writing?
  3. Which nonpayment events trigger repurchase?
  4. Can unselected customer invoices be financed elsewhere under our agreement?

Ask for written terms. Compare net cash received, total repayment, fees, payment timing and early-payoff costs for the same financing need.

Prepare your comparison

Use the same questions and figures for each offer you receive.

Alternatives to research

These are options for a related financing need, not a ranking or a claim of equivalent eligibility or pricing.

Apex Capital

Apex publishes both recourse choices and no cancellation fees, useful for an exit-term comparison.

Porter Freight Funding

Porter also separates carrier and freight-broker services and publishes renewal-notice terms.
