How CDFIs lend and what they look for

Community development financial institutions are certified lenders whose mission is to fund businesses and places that banks often overlook, including startups, owners rebuilding credit and rural or low income areas. Many also make SBA microloans and 7(a) loans. They look at the whole picture, your plan, experience and character beside the numbers, and many pair the loan with free coaching. Pricing usually sits between a bank and an online lender.
