When it may fit

Our assessment of the published programs

  • Consider for a startup or established local business seeking small CDFI credit and business support in LEDC’s DC, Maryland and Virginia region.

What to weigh carefully

  • Confirm service-area eligibility for the specific loan rather than assuming national availability.
  • Growth and startup tiers show collateral requirements; the minimum advertised APR is conditional.
  • Personal credit-builder products are distinct from these business loans.

Questions before you accept an offer

  1. Which tier and geography apply to my business?
  2. What collateral and guarantees are required?
  3. What APR, closing fee and documentation apply to my requested amount?

Ask for written terms. Compare net cash received, total repayment, fees, payment timing and early-payoff costs for the same financing need.

Prepare your comparison

Use the same questions and figures for each offer you receive.
