Business invoice factoring

Eligibility
B2B or B2G receivables; FAQ requests at least $25,000 monthly sales before applying. Startups can be considered.
Advance
Service page describes 80% to 90% after invoice verification; actual terms depend on review.
Selection
Clients select customers and invoices. Monthly factoring is typically not required, subject to the agreement.
Pricing
Custom proposal. FAQ describes capital-cost and ACH/wire charges, with most proposals carrying no application, documentation, due-diligence or closing fees. Confirm exceptions.
Existing liens
A receivables lien held by an existing lender may require a subordination agreement.
Onboarding
FAQ says onboarding can take at least seven business days; next-day funding can occur once fully onboarded.
Customer notification
Full notification redirects customer payments to UCF's secure lockbox. Invoices must be verified with the customer.
Risk terms
Confirm recourse, disputed-invoice treatment, reserve release and guarantees in the offer.

Government contract receivables factoring

Assignment
Government invoice funding requires the applicable assignment notices and contracting-officer acknowledgement described by UCF.
Verification
The government portal must show the invoice processed and approved for payment before the standard invoice advance.
Advance and reserve
Government workflow describes an initial 85% to 90% advance, with 10% to 15% reserve released after payment less accrued fees. Percentages vary with the business and customer profile.
Prime-contractor distinction
Receivables owed by a major government contractor are commercial accounts and receive separate review.
Additional structures
Earned-but-unbilled receivables support is described for qualifying professional-service mobilization. Request separate eligibility and terms; a contract award alone is not a funded invoice.

When it may fit

Our assessment of the published programs

  • A business with commercial invoices and sufficient monthly sales seeking selective invoice funding.
  • A government contractor able to complete assignment and portal verification requirements.

What to weigh carefully

  • Minimum monthly sales and a monthly factoring commitment are different requirements.
  • Federal agency receivables and invoices owed by commercial prime contractors are not treated identically.
  • A related company's asset-based loan is not the same legal product as UCF factoring.

Questions before you accept an offer

  1. Which legal entity purchases the receivables?
  2. Which assignment and customer acknowledgements are required?
  3. Is my payor the agency or a commercial prime contractor?
  4. What are the advance, reserve, fee period and transfer charges?
  5. What creates a repurchase obligation or a reserve deduction?
  6. What existing liens must be subordinated and how long will onboarding take?
  7. What notice, guarantee and lien-release requirements apply?
